Barrel aged in 60% new French oak barrels for 24 months Only 480 cases produced
Vineyard Information: Our estate vines are situated on a sloping south-west exposure at a 1,560 foot elevation in the cool-climate Santa Cruz Mountains. Located well above the fog line of Monterey Bay, the vines enjoy a long growing season marked by warm days and cool mountain nights. Tasting Characteristics: The 2006 Estate merlot is gorgeous in the glass. Redolent of wild black cherry with a hint of menthol and a whiff of juniper and barrel nuttiness from the fine French oak. This is a big, muscular, meaty and well structured wine. It will pair up with spicy sausages and mighty lamb dishes. For vegetarians, pair with grilled Portobello mushrooms with arugula and provolone.
