Tasting Characteristics: Dave makes big and bold wines from Ryan Oaks,--Zins with character and staying power. This 2006 vintage is a wine with serious muscle. The beautiful nose is redolent of dried plums, sweet cigar, anise and caramelized cherries. There’s a hint of cherry cough drops and a bright, zesty spicy cherry pie flavor that floods the palate. Blessed with bright acidity, this is a Zinfandel to serve with food. Bring on the bold flavored pastas and spicy ribs.
