The 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition results are in! For Silver the "Spring Break" 2005 Estate Syrah Pichon and our 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon SCM. And for Bronze2004 Ryan Oaks Zinfandel.
The West Coast Wine Competition 2007 results are in! For Silver the "Spring break" 2005 Estate Syrah Pichon and our "Extra Credit"' 2004 Cabernet Franc Estate Pichon. And for Bronze"Honor Roll" 2004 Estate Merlot.

San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (America's single largest) got the school bell ringing at Burrell School! The 2004 Syrah Pichon Estate won Gold, the 2003 Zinfandel Ryan Oaks took Silver, and both the 2002 Cabernet Franc Reserve and 2004 Old School Cabernet Sauvignon took Bronze. Wine Enthusiast, July 2005 - Burrell School Vineyards 2002 Estate Pichon Vineyard Cabernet Franc (Santa Cruz Mountains) - 87 Points - "A lovely wine, maybe a little overoaked, but the cherry flavors are delightful, and the tannic structure is firm. It's light-bodied compared to a Cab Sauvignon, but delightful" (page 83)

The results of the Santa Cruz County Commercial Wine Competition are in, and among the big winners is Burrell School! We are proud to have received four medals (see list below), all for wines grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains (SCM) appellation.
