Barrel Tasting & Futures!

July 2, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Every weekend in July features barrel tasting and futures purchase opportunities for our Sippers Club members!

2014 Estate Pinot Noir“Principal’s Choice”

Barrel aged in French oak barrels, 66% new

This is our exclusive Estate blend of the four Dijon and Pommard clones of Pinot Noir grown here.  Gorgeous in the glass, it tastes of cherry brandy and smoky raspberries.  You’ll find a hint of chocolate and hazelnut as well.  This is our thirteenth Estate Pinot Noir and is one that will age nicely.

Only 688 cases produced.     price per case:  $264

2014 Estate Petit Verdot “Prom Night”

75% Petite Verdot, Barrel aged in French oak barrels, 60% new

A big nose of currant and spice is followed by lush mid-palate flavors of red fruits. Mouth-feel is round and soft. Smooth tannins and bright fruit are indicators of a wine ready to enjoy now. A staff favorite, Prom Nightt is the wine to accompany pasta, grilled steak, spicy chile, or just some fruit and cheese. Don’t forget chocolate!

Only 168 cases produced.     price per case:  $192

2014 Estate Merlot “Honor Roll”

Barrel aged in French oak barrels, 60% new

Rich, dense and nearly black in color, this is a wine with weight.  Aromas of black current and cherry combine with smoky wood on the nose.  You’ll enjoy flavors of dark chocolate, cherries, and a hint of blackberry.  The impressive finish is long and generous, espresso, cinnamon and berries.  Balanced tannins and acid bode well for aging.

Only 336 cases produced.     price per case:  $192

2014 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon “Dean’s List”

Barrel aged in French oak barrels, 60% new

Dave’s blend for the Cabernet is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.  The nose is redolent with currants, blackberries and cassis with a nice hint of toasty caramel.  On the palate, there is a nice burst of cherry accompanied by caramel, licorice and notes of tar and leather.  The finish offers up a nice herbal component with a hit of pepper.  This is a nicely balanced wine with plenty of acidity and supple tannin.  A keeper for the cellar.

Only 168 cases produced.     price per case:  $264
