Vineyard Information: Our estate vines are situated on a sloping south-west exposure at a 1,560 foot elevation in the cool-climate Santa Cruz Mountains. Located well above the fog line of Monterey Bay, the vines enjoy a long growing season marked by warm days and cool mountain nights. The 2000 growing season was lengthy and moderate in temperature.

Tasting Characteristics: Classic Burgundian style Chardonnay with signature flavors of lively citrus notes, hints of mango and apricot, vanilla and soft nutty oak. Crisp acidity and a long finish bode well for cellar-aging for four to five years.

2005 Pinot Noir - Estate Reserve Bottling Click Here to Order

Vineyard Information: Our Estate Pinot Noir vines enjoy a southwest exposure at 1600 foot elevation. We grow four Dijon clones, 05, 115, 667 and 777, which add complexity to the final
wine.

Tasting Characteristics: One look at this wine and you know it’s a true beauty: very classy, like burgundy velvet, glistening and gorgeous in the glass. Aromas are perfumey black raspberry, with hints of applewood
bacon, coriander and plum tart. On the palate, the flavors are big, silky smooth raspberry and chocolate, with a hint of, cherry jam and a red licorice. This is a rich and vibrant Pinot: definitely more like a cello than a violin. The barrel tannins are evident, the acidity is perfect and the structure is all there: a very balanced wine. Don't be afraid to cellar this Pinot, as it has some maturing ahead of it. Enjoy this fine, age worthy wine with rich foods like duck breast with orange-cherry marmalade or grilled
lamb with rosemary and currant demi-glace.

Vineyard Information: The Estate Pichon Vineyard is located on the slopes of Mount Umunhum above Lexington Reservoir. Elevations for the Syrah blocks range from 1200 to 1600 feet. This planting is of the Estrella clone.

Tasting Characteristics: We've never made a Syrah this beautiful in every way, from the color to the amazing finish. It's gloriously deep and dark, and tantalizes your nose with a wealth of intriguing aromas. You might find a ham and Swiss sandwich in there, plus olives, sweet sandalwood, and toasted pumpernicker bread. The white pepper is most amazing, and continues onto the palate, along with delectable flavors of salami, ollalieberry and blueberry jam. On the back end, tart goosebery and ginger really spice up the finish, which doesn't quit easily. This is one precocious wine that evolves in the glass and never ceases to amaze. This wine spent 12 months on American Oak. Enjoy this wine now.

2005 Zinfandel - Ryan Oaks Vineyard, Amador County

Vineyard Information: This full-flavored Zin was grown at Ryan Oaks Vineyard in Amador County, an area with a rich heritage of Zinfandel, dating back two centuries.

Tasting Characteristics: Step back and get ready for this one: it's big and bold. Dave tends
to make elegant wines from Ryan Oaks–Zins with character and staying power. Even so. this 2005 has a bit more going on than in past vintages. It’s a Zinfandel that worked out, buffed up and put on some serious muscle. The beautiful nose is redolent of dried plums, sweet cigar, anise and caramelized cherries. There’s a hint of cherry cough drops (Smith Brothers) and a bright, zesty,
spicy cherry pie flavor that keeps flooding the palate. Blessed with bright acidity. this is a Zinfandel to serve with food: it has the starch to arm wrestle even the spiciest of ribs into total
submission.
2004 Class Reunion Zinfandel/Mataro/Carignane Blend - Santa Clara Valley Sold Out

Vineyard Information: Leona's Vineyard, Santa Clara Valley. These vines date back to an original planting circa 1906. Three acres are still under cultivation, yielding small amounts of concentrated flavors.

Tasting Characteristics: Bright cherry flavors, a nose of blackberry fragrance and notes of cocoa and chocolate are the signature of this small production, exclusive blend. Soft tannins and bright fruit are indicators of a wine ready to be enjoyed now.
2005 Cabernet Franc - Estate Pichon Vineyard Click Here to Order

Vineyard Information: We used the Estate Pichon Vineyard for our Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Franc, located on the slopes of Mount Umunhum above Lexington Reservoir.

Tasting Characteristics: Our third totally estate Cabernet Franc from the estate Pichon Vineyard, this one is earthier than in past vintages, with aromas of dusty black raspberry bushes that have just been splashed by a mid-summer rainshower. There are hints of green tea and tobacco in the nose, promising freshness and light. Yet, there is a sumptuous richness here: it also smells rather distinctively like raspberry cheesecake. Whereas the ‘04 was a little shy in its youth, this wine is more effusive than elusive. It delivers big berries, mostly raspberry and blackberry, leading to alluring cedar and
eucalyptus notes on the mid palate. As it opens up, its smooth, velvety personality starts to kick in, along with some lovely sassafras flavors on
the finish. The American oak in which this wine was aged is evident in the touch of cigar as the finish lingers on. And on. You’ll want more of
this frankly fabulous Franc.

Franc, and Merlot, has a nose jubilant with sweet licorice, currants, brambly blackberries and cassis, plus a rather substantial hint of toasty caramel from the oak. On the palate, there is a nice burst of Bing cherry, accompanied by anise, burnt caramel, black licorice, salami and some definitive tones of tar and leather. On the finish,
there’s a nice herbal component, mostly oregano, basil and tarragon, with a hint of pepper. This is going to be a nicely balanced wine, with plenty of acidity and good tannins.
